SHINE Strong: Building the Pipeline of Trans Health Scholars >


SHINE Strong is the first NIH-funded training program to build the pipeline of scholars trained in HIV prevention science and trans population health. SHINE Strong scholars participate in a summer intensive training program consistiing of topical seminars and didactic courses focused on methodology and analysis, and work with their mentors on a year-long mentored research project. Traineeships in AIDS Prevention Studies (TAPS) >


TRUE investigators are UCSF faculty and serve as mentors to UCSF TAPS post-doctoral trainees.

 

Visiting Research Scholars >


We have hosted international visiting research scholars (e.g. medical students, post-doctoral scholars, and other junior and mid-career investigators) for varying periods of time. Visiting Research Scholars work on secondary analyses with mentors, culminating in the submission of peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts.

 

Summer Internships for Public Health Students >


TRUE investigators have served as summer preceptors for students enrolled in Master’s degree programs in Schools of Public Health. Public Health students receive real-world training, participating in activities such as: outreach, recruitment, data collection, data analysis, clinical shdowing, and contributing to peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts.
